Initially targeting buses, taxis, and HGVs, these zones now include non-compliant private vehicles, affecting both commercial and private drivers.
Part of the UK’s Air Quality Plan, CAZs and LEZs aim to reduce pollution and improve air quality in urban areas.
Zones are either non-charging, using solutions like vehicle retrofitting or traffic management to cut emissions without fees, or charging, where drivers pay to enter if their vehicle doesn’t meet Euro emissions standards.
